This Icelandic volcano trek was memorable for more than just its dramatic setting.
It marked David’s first fundraising trek alongside his middle son, James, making it a deeply personal experience. The climb took place on Eyjafjallajökull, the volcano famously responsible for grounding European air travel in 2010, though thankfully it was dormant during their ascent.
The stark beauty of Iceland’s landscape, combined with the shared challenge of the climb, made this trek a powerful bonding experience and a reminder of why fundraising adventures matter. While the volcano’s name may still be impossible to pronounce, the memories made on this journey are crystal clear. It was another step forward in blending family, challenge, and charitable purpose.
